I has a teak cleaner in a compartment and it spilled, I now have a 2' x 5' area of the deck darker, the teak cleaner is (smells) like an oil based chemical. so now I have a spill stain, on what is otherwise a very consistent color teak deck throughout, any suggestions to take the stuff out ? looks like allot of it was absorbed into the teak.

I never use teak cleaner, but dishwasher powder. It can probably remove your stuff too. Wet the whole deck first, have a little powder in hot water and use a scotchbrite to rinse. Then flush a lot and see if it helped.

Remedial action really depends on what kind of cleaner it is. I'd recommend contacting the mfg. directly.

Most teak cleaner products are a strong alkaloy, typically lye or sodium hydroxide. Teak bleaches are a moderate acid, typically oxalic or phosphoric. Wet the wood down in the stain and surrounding areas well and apply new acid to it. You can buy "Part B" of a two part system, Oxalic Acid crystals, Ospho, Glacial Acetic, or if it's not too bad, white wine vinegar. Worst comes to worse, just re clean and bleach the entire deck. This is no major drama to straighten out.
