    Hello All
Earlier in the spring I installed Yacht Devices engine gateways to get info onto my network so I could use on my raymarine MFD's in the dash panel. All great was able to get lots of info (hours, boost, water temp, gph etc etc)
Last week out of the blue my port engine hours reset to zero (were 1138) an have started to count from there. Yesterday my starboard engine just did the same and reset to zero. Talked with Yacht Devices and they say that their gateways only scan and read the ecu. Have tried resetting backbone, engine power etc with no luck. Any one know what has happened or how this could happen? I am feeling like a crooked used car salesman right now resetting an odmeter...lol

    The gateway is read only.
Usually isolated so even a short wont take the ECM down.
If the hours are starting over, the ECM on the Volvo has lost count.
If your ECM has a clock, it probably restarts also. Probably a bad backup battery (C-Mos memory) in the ECM.
You know the drill from here, Call your Volvo tech.
