Symbol Yachts was founded in 1982 as the first production yacht builder with planning hulls in Taiwan. Founder and current CEO Jimmy Cheng had accumulated vast experience in Taiwan’s Yacht Industry before forming Symbol, by working for a number of famous Taiwanese yacht builders. They started as an OEM manufacturer for several well-known American and European companies, before moving on to build their own line of yachts, designed by well-known Australian naval architects.

Symbol Yacht’s facilities cover an area of over 110,000 sq. ft. with more than 60% undercover. With a workforce averaging more than 20 years of experience, they build yachts up to 88 feet in length, while meeting ABS-standards. In 1998, famed naval architect Jack Sarin became the exclusive designer for Symbol Yachts and subsequently, the product range has expanded to include classic, trawler and pilothouse yachts from 42’ to 88’.
