    It's not a shark, it's a dolphin.

Hmmm.... here's a classic case of instilled fears controlling how the brain interprets...

At first glance... I saw a shark. Must be my underlying fear of them. Looking closer... you are correct! Somewhat difficult to tell through the water's distortion, as the front profile "screams" shark! But the horizontal tail tells you this shark has blow-hole..

Guess I should I re-title the post... "Flipper goes surfing".

    hmmm.

guess it could go either way, but that is one **** big dolphin, and it seems to have a unusualy pointy dorsal fin for flipper. The tail definately looks like it could be horizontal, but don't really see much of the other side of the tail that you might expect to see given the angle. Guess it could also be vertical, but not sure.

I'm no expert, but would guess shark if had to pick one just my $.02

Did you see the segment on 60 Minutes about the "world's greatest athlete"? I think the guy is married to the Volley Ball Model (can't remember her name), but he uses a surfboard with foot straps and is towed into MONSTER waves by a PWC. This guy is riding 50 foot waves! Purists scoff at this, because surfing should be done under human power, but man... you've got to be super-human to ride the waves this guy is catching.

Frankly... I prefer to meet the waves head-on with a throttle in my right hand and a handle-bar in the left. Few things compare to exchanging forward velocity for vertical trajectory.
