This summer, Oceanco began construction of an 80-meter yacht, code “Y701”. This magnificent new yacht is a collaboration between Oceanco, noted Italian design firm Nuvolari & Lenard and the owner. Despite its large dimensions and muscular construction, the Y701 has a sleek, aggressive silhouette. Her superstructure epitomizes the yacht’s strong character, offering a bold, “ship-look" up forward, with broad, long decks to the rear.

Although it looks expedition like in nature, the yacht takes into account the practical needs of the owner and guests while delivering the ultimate in luxury and convenience, including a continuous walkaround main deck.

Guests and owners will enjoy complete privacy, with guests lodged on the main deck and a huge owner’s suite – complete with a large private terrace – located forward on the upper deck. The sky lounge deck, with its panoramic windows and large aft deck, will bring sunlight and scenery inside, and offer easy access to the sun deck and its swimming pool.

Nuvolari & Lenard have positioned an innovative glass lobby on the main deck, just off the gangway, creating a space for where guests can wait comfortably to leave the yacht aboard one of two 30 foot tenders. For longer or faster land journeys, the yacht will also offer a helicopter landing area. In addition to the two 30-footers, the Y701 will be served by three semi-rigid tenders, and will accommodate various water toys.

With a powerful bow and a beamy hull that captures the seaworthy character of an expedition yacht, Oceancs's upcoming launch is sure to be the newest buzz in the yachting community.

In a related story leading up to the launch...

A Dutch elevator manufacturer, TBV Industry & Offshore, has announced that it has won a contract to engineer three new Airborne Elevators for the Oceanco Y701.

Under the terms of the contract, TBV will build a round glass elevator inside the boat's glass lobby on the main deck, enabling six passengers to travel between four decks. The other two elevators will include a service elevator for moving people and freight between five decks, and a dumbwaiter for three decks.
