I am a 21 year old man who just hapened to stumble upon this wonderfully active yacht forum. So far its just what I have been spending years looking for. It includes news and message boards. I would like to introduce my self as a personable and charismatic individual who is friendly and professional. In my early years before I was 10 I grew up around my grandparents 30 Ft LOA sail boat, eating some cereal, or just socalising. They lived in it for 14 years sailing around South America and Brazil and the East Coast of North America. I am an avid natural at living and working on the sea. I was in the Sea Scouts here in My hometown of Santa Rosa. Our boats were docked in a town called Petaluma In the north bay close to Marin County. I spent Two (2) years with them learning about terminology, Knots, Enginess and the maintenence of the Engines and also got a few chances to pilot the vessel which was 48 ft LOA. I was involved a lot in the assisted rescue of a Vietnam Era Coast Gaurd Pt boat. Sadly a previous Sea Scout Crew hadn't tied it correctly and the hull got puntured and had to be pulled out of the Oakland Port. We spent a considerable amount of time rejuvenating it to its gracious lustre. Cleaning and getting rid of the oil was a huge undertaking. After rescuing it, We got to keep it and have it as our own Mothership. We spent the next couple years even after I left the Scouts to put a lot of volunteer money, time and supplies into it such as windows, paint, and guide rails (Safety Rails) which me and my father manufactured in his machine shop which he owns and operates. We also had summers where we would go to Spring Lake a small lake in Sonoma County which where I live and sailed our 12 ft Cantana and Kiaks. I am attatching my resume if any yacht owner is interested further in my skills and experience. Please feel free...
