Hi, Came across this one about a grand old lady who is still steaming along. http://www.marinelink.com/news/voyage-yacht-makes338791.aspx
Should be a sight to behold traveling the canal. At 126' she'll require some handling skills as well. Here's a pretty good link on her: http://www.tricoastal.com/Cangarda/Cangarda.html
Hi, Great link Ed, I was surprised to see all those rivets visible in one of the engine room shots till I saw this http://www.tricoastal.com/Cangarda/source/thumbnails/025 frame.jpg. It is probably the only bit of the original hull and qualifies the old girl to be called refitted. I did a pre purchase survey of a 89m Factory Fishing Trawler for a guy who wanted to turn it into a yacht, it had started life as a 1970's Louisiana Mudboat been run into the ground, sold off then been towed to Bremerhaven and parts of the shell plating and the rudder crossbar were all that remained of the original boat after the refit was complete, just enough to keep it on the US Register so it could go up to Alaska and make the Norwegian Owner rich.
