    I'll be visiting the Caribbean next week and will be looking at new developments: Christophe Harbour on St. Kitts and Tamarind Cove/Marina on Nevis. If any forumites are interested and have specific questions or existing observations, I'd be happy to hear from you.     Thx...I missed those earlier posts. Nope, won't be sailing to the islands but may help/crew several sailboats back to SKN that spend hurricane season in Guadaloupe and St. Martin...usually a nice day sail if leaving early morning. FYI, for the most part, local boats anchor or use mooring buoys in a couple of roadsteads for their season. I've also seen boats brought on shore and...(carefully) buried, during hurricane season!     Since the 70's, our sailing boats have sat in trenches cut by a backhoe with the keel in the slot and the hull resting on car tyres, then strapped down to 3ft iron bars driven into the ground. The rig is then pulled out and the mast hole blocked and covered to protect againt water ingress.

    No problems.

    Good Grief, yet another announced resort-marina development on St. Kitts:

    Can there be that many investors, mariners and yachties out there interested in these little islands?
    The answer could well be attached to real estate purchases and the selling of passports/citizenship by the local government. Evidently popular with middle eastern, soviet (and satellites) and asian "investors" who are not very visible (suspecting they will never live there) but the documents are, apparently, a real money maker for the debt-strapped economy.
    More fun in the Caribbean, eh! Cheers, Richard.
