Who can identify the meaning of the boat's name and the reason for the pattern on the side of the hull? Bonus points if you can identify the boat builder.

Upgrading from a previous Catch 22, possibly? :)
No idea about the pattern, but the style reminds me of Bayliss boats.

Isn't Michael Jordan's Viking also named Catch 23? I think it's basically means - what comes around, goes around. No?

Catch 23 could be karma, but I'm told the name is unrelated to a circumstance. And yes, Jordan owned a SF by the same name.

Jordan's new 82 Bayliss. Unlike the Viking that had a wrap on the hull this design is painted on the hull and closely matches his jet. I want to say the name of the design is Air Force One but I could be mistaken. The new paint bay at Bayliss was built specifically so the design could be painted instead of wrapped.

As it was relayed to me, the pattern was taken from one of the original Air Jordan designs and as Barrett mentioned, it was meant to match his jet...

I was thinking that new Blob bar-code. Can anybody get enough of the hull to bar-code scan?

    Nice looking boat.:)
    Ugly plane and shoes..

Agreed, Bayliss SFs are indeed among the cleanest and most elegant around.
And that pattern is sort of acceptable on the boat - as opposed to being fugly on the rest!
