  1. CRN splashes their largest superyacht, 80-meter "Chopi Chopi"

The largest superyacht to be built by Italian yard CRN has been finally splashed. You will remember the 80-meter "Chopi Chopi" was tentatively launched late last year where they subsequently prepared her for the launching ceremony and also to continue final works towards sea trials and delivery. http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/crn-yacht/20048-crn-prepares-launch-80m-superyacht-chopi-chopi.html. The milestone superyacht slid into the waters of the CRN Ancona shipyard yesterday, Saturday 12, January 2013. The yard was basically opened up to the citizens of Ancona to witness the launch as it is a major part of the yard's history.

Chopi Chopi is the current largest (CRN) superyacht, taking over from the previous largest by some distance, the 72-meter "Azteca". Chopi Chopi is also the 129th superyacht to be built by CRN. A brief overview of the creditials state that she has an interior done by Laura Sessa Romboli, Studio Zuccon International Project styled the exterior design and engineering was done by the CRN engineering team. This pleasure vessel can host 23 crew members plus 10 staff members, while up to 12 guests can be accommodated in 5 (double and twin) cabins and 1 master stateroom. The yacht is powered by two Caterpillar 3516B-C engines that push it to a cruising speed of 15-knots and a maximum speed of 16-knots. The cruising range at a speed of 12-knots is 6,000 nautical miles.

8 pleasure vessels are currently being built under the CRN brand at the Ancona shipyard: six megayachts in steel and aluminium - 60-metre CRN 125 “J’Ade”, 80-metre CRN 129 “Chopi Chopi”, 74-metre CRN 131 (all designed by Zuccon International Project), 73-metre CRN 132 (designed by Omega Architects), 60-metre CRN 133 (designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design), 55-metre CRN 134 (designed by Nuvolari & Lenard) – and two 43 metres long fibreglass CRN Navetta 43,also designed byZuccon International Project.

Later this year, look out for Chopi Chopi and the 60-meter "J'Ade" being presented at the 2013 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) in September. After the launch Chopi Chopi will remain at the Shipyard: over the next few months sea trials will be performed and onboard fitting-out operations will be completed. Final delivery to the Owner is scheduled by May, and the vessel's first cruise will be in the Adriatic sea.
