    OMG, that's incredible! Of the 50 or so helicopters I've built over 20 years, 3 of them were scale machines... or at least I thought. A gent named Frank Tiano puts on a world-class event called "Top Gun" every year in Florida, attracting the world's finest scale r/c airplanes, jets, etc. The detail on these planes rivals the Spitfire above, but with the added dimension of fully controllable surfaces, retractable gear and running engines. Sadly, Top Gun is best known for it's crashes, because the majority of the gentlemen who build these things don't have much time to practice flying.

    In the first 4 years of the event, now in it's 20th year, I was the half-time heli demonstration pilot. Now days, I just got to watch and remember when...
