Spirit of Zopilote is the replacement for the Delta 70, Zopilote owned by Bruce and Joan Kessler, that sank after her circumnavigation, but is reported recovered for a rebuild. Spirit of Zopilote is also built of GRP, this time by Northern Marine, 64 feet and with a similar design by Steve Seaton. Very nice and seaworthy boats.

What the reason that Zopilote sank ????

I have seen photos of that trawler, it was very nice, and looked as if it was built for long offshore passages ...

    Update on Zopilote History

Details: Sank off the airport, in Tongass narrows in Ketchikan, AK circa 1993-94. Towed and hauled to Bar Harbor in Ketchikan, AK by salvage company. Looked pretty sad at that time but someone has rebuilt her and she looks great. :p

    Zopilote in 1985

I only found an old picture, but she was an impressive little 70-footer made for circumnavigations. Which she completed!
