I could not find a MY listing for my Southern Cross post.

We started working on a 1988 Southern Cross 53 MY last week. Very interesting ship. Can any of our southern friends reflect any on the factory, your thoughts on quality and insights on what to be on the look out for. The new company seems to push SFs and a weak web site.
Detroits were pulled and replaced with QSC 8.3 600s in 2008.

    Thx,
    rc

I don't know much about them other than they bought a lot of the old Bertram molds and were building boats from them in Australia.

Over the years I think there's been different incarnations of Southern Cross. The current company claims a startup date of 1998. The 53' MY was built during the mid to late 80's when they were mostly building the Fexas designed sportfish line. Sales history data on the 53' MY indicates only nine were imported into the USA.
