    I have a 46 Post w DD 671TIB's
They make plenty of noise and I am not interested in making them quiet.
    I know they are loud.

Im interested in the generator noise.

Has anyone added any soundproofing to the E/R to help with generator noise when at anchor?

I am wondering if adding insulation to the ER would help or be less of a project than installing a Generator sound shield.

    thanks in advance

What kind of generator do you have and where is it mounted in the Engine room? Enclosing the generator is going to be your easiest route. However, adding insulation to the Engine room ceiling and foward bulkhead will greatly increase comfort inside the boat from both the engine and generator noise, and will help keep the boat cooler inside after running the engines.

Big difference with a sound shield enclosure around your gen set. I tried taking mine off, thinking it was "healthier" for the genny - put it right back on the next day.
