    All,

    Since the yachts keep getting bigger, I thought some of you might be interested in some engine room pics from one of our ships that I took yesterday..

    LOA 188 m Blt 2004
    Main engine 6 cylinder Sulzer

    Thanks for posting the pictures; although you may not want to reveal the identity of the ship, which we all respect, can you give us some more information as to where she is built and what type of a vsl she is? Also, it would be very interesting to learn more about the equipment and capacities.

    She is a 35,000 dwt bulk carrier built in China.
    Will try to get more specs on the equipment..

    Hey, John, nice stuff on your commercial vessels, thanks.
    You, being in the business.... how does the Chinese stuff rate relative to the other builds out there? Their machinery & layouts look pretty sharp.

    Loren,

    We now have 12 of these vessels, all built in China, and are currently just starting a newbuilding program for 6 more 50,000 tonners. We have had very good experience with the 35,000 tonners and are building the 50,000 tonners in China as well. Similar to having a Build Engineer on the yacht side of the business, we have our own Engineers and Technical Superintendants on site at the yard during the complete construction process. We also have strict maintenance programs once we take delivery.

    Use of pictures

    Dear All,

    I just recently joined this forum. I'm Vera, second marine engineer by profession an currently working as maritime training instructor here in Manila, Philippines. I just want to ask permission if I can use the pictures for my training purposes. I'm currently preparing a powerpoint presentation regarding engine room familiarization and I happen to be needing the pictures for my students to be familiarized in the engine room layout through pictures.

    Hello Vera, Welcome to YachtForums! It's certainly very nice of you to ask permission to use photos from the net. As a contributor of yacht photos myself, I always grant permission to use my work when someone has the good manners to ask first.

    I would suggest that you perhaps use the email or Private Message function here on YachtForums to try to contact the original poster of these photos. I checked and that user has not been online here since last May 2011, so he may not see your post. He may however receive your Private Message.
