Shaft tube leaking on a 1983 CHB,how to replace or seal?

    I water dripping from the shaft tube housing on the keel end of the trawler, do I re-bed the housing and replace the shaft tube or live with it? Please help

    Fix it. Leaks don't ever tend to fix themselves or get better, generally they get worse. Without seeing it, or pictures of it, the fix depends on what's wrong with it and the initial design. A good yard should be able to determine and fix what is necessary.

    Thanks Capt J I know I need to fix it , either the shaft tube is brass or SS, if SS it is embedded in the keel which means it will have to be cut out.
