Hello all. I'm an author who, unfortunately doesn't own a yacht so I write about them! What I'm looking for is cover art for my second book entitled 'Anita's Rescue'. Woven heavily into the book is a voyage on a 55' Constellation. This story is set in 1985 and the Connie is described as a 1957 model but I'm sure we have some leeway as to just what a reader is going to recognize. As a cover I need a near full length, high resolution shot of such a boat, preferrably at night or dusk (no sunset, this is on the east coast). I definitely need a high resolution photo as this will have to span the entire front and back jacket of the book and lower resolution pictures like most I can find on the Internet simply wash out. The photo could be in the day and we could take the wonder of photoshop and work with it. Eventually it would be the Connie cruising up the coast as a signal flare goes off in the distance. I can not promise a lot. For the photo and it's limited rights to use in this manner I will completely attribute the photo and can even provide a link inside the book cover (if you are a seller this may help). I will also provide an autographed copy of the book and it's companion prequel book to the owner of the photo. No other rights to the photo other than the publication of the book would be involved (for everything else, you still own the photo). If you can help me out in this endeavor please send your photo's to me via E-mail. Thanks for your time! Ezzy Black
1956 54' connie I have a 1956 54' Chris Craft Connie and a friend who's a photographer. Are you still looking for a photo?
FWIW, It is entirely possible to photograph a sunset over the water on the US East Coast. There are plenty of rivers and bays with a vantage point to the setting sun.
Good point. In this case according to the content in the book a signal flair is seen to the east. at night, while sailing north off the coast of Virginia. So a sunset in the photo would be a bad thing. Readers are going to instantly know what scene the cover depicts. Ezzy
