4 years ago, we had a 900gpd sea recovery installed on the boat I run, by a well known FTL dealer/servicer. Due to space issue, we had to install the modular model which requires quite a but of hoses linking all the components

I've just had 2 leaks in a week due to some of the thin plastic tubes cut by over tightened zip ties... These tubes are used for sensors and are run back to the main box from various locations. We had one fail a couple of years ago, leaking sea water on an AC pump which obviously failed.

Disappointing that a professional and reputable installer would make such a mistake... I now have to remove all the ties, inspect all the lines and resecure them... :(

Both leaks happened in the evening between ER visits. Good thing that I had replaced the DC panel wooden door with lexan, I was able to spot one of the ER bilge pump cycling right away. Another gripe... What are some builders thinking hiding volt/amp meters and bilge pump lights behind solid doors!!!

And of course these things always happen on charter, when we the most busy cooking etc... And in the Bahamas where the WM is absolutely critical!

And the **** touch screen is suffering from an increasingly debilitating linetitis (horizontal lines appearing on the screen) to the point that it salon going to be unstable. I think others have experienced this, I hope sea recovery stands behind their product and doesn't charge us $1000 for a screen... We ve already has to replace 2 screen control boards in 4 years, 1 under warranty and 1 at a cost of $1000...

So... If you have a modular WM, check those lines! And if your DC panel is hidden behind solid cabinetry, change to lexan!

I've never seen sea-recovery replace a screen outside of warranty, trust me, I've bought a few of them for customers yachts. They also tend to go bad often. I'd change all of the lines, rather than inspect them. The plastic tubing they use isn't that expensive and if you've already had a few blow, it's time. Could it be a heat issue in your E.R.?
