I am in the islands. I have a Sea Recovery Water Maker and need to change the oil in the pump. Is there a generic oil that can be used in that pump. Thanks

    Hi,

How desperate are you to change the oil? Running it over the change point is not as harmful as putting the wrong oil in it.

It needs a specific grade of oil, the particular brand is not so important.

I do not know what model of Sea Recovery Unit you have so can't look for the answer as to the correct grade online, I have a manual for a bigger machine that uses a CAT Pump and it uses Shell Omala 150 which is a fairly heavy gear oil.

The model I have is Aqua Whisper which is ironic because when it is running you can hear it across the marina. Several times people have asked why are you running your generator. Thanks
