Apparently they got it in shallow water.

Or is that the problem? Like the Golden Ray rolled over in shallow water.

Maybe intentionally? AIS says Annapolis was the destination, so maybe they diverted on purpose?

We keep our boat in the West River, and there's nothing particularly tricky about navigation there... assuming decent visibility, like yesterday. We heard the Coast Guard announcements yesterday afternoon, but there wasn't much detail...

I think comparing the two is like Apples and Orange.... Yogi was like one year old, and was reported to have construction problems.

This is a fourteen year old yacht, with its previous captain speaking highly of her on social media.

They were taking on water, some say they might have hit the shoal which goes out, but the captain says he did not.
What could it be? One side she looks clean, we will know when they salvage her what is on the other.

Still there, starboard side down. About 500 yards SSW from WR R2, looks like about 10' of water, a guess based on how much of the beam is visible relative to charted depths. Maybe the captain didn't quite make it to the shelf he might have been aiming for, another 500 yards or so... and another guess.

That's what was assuming, intentional beaching but didn't quite make it.

Lovebug's neighbors skippers at the Yacht Basin report:
Skipper was outbound when he felt the stern of the boat feeling loaded and squirrely. They immediate realized the boat was flooding and headed for the shallow water of the point. Owners wife was on board.

Alarms likely but odd handling characteristics were the first indication according to this less than perfect hear say.
