Hi, on my 47 Sport Fish i would like to replace my carpet, are there any recommendations for good carpets that are better suited for marine use, or does everyone just go with household carpets. Also any recommendations on suppliers in Florida?

Fabrica is a very good brand found on most yachts. Try Ronnie's Carpets he only deals in yacht carpeting in Fort Lauderdale,fl

Ronnie's Carpets sometimes has remnants from megayachts that fit the size for smaller boats - be sure to ask.

I went to a flooring store and picked out some prefab wood flooring. Next I hired two flooring guys for a couple of days (food, beer and cash). The biggest part of the job was removing the hundreds of carpet staples. The only part that required some skill and patience was careful use of a chisel to get a good fit for a couple of hatches' hardware. The floor looks great and is very easy to clean. I never checked if it weighs more or less than the old carpeting.

I replaced the original Dusty Rose, or Dirty Rose as my wife called it and used an indoor/outdoor carpet I purchased from Home Depot.

It looks like real carpet, not that green crap of years ago and it cleans up quite easily.

after years of trying to take care of carpets that most boss ladies considered more important than the main engines, I wondered about the type of carpets used in hotel lobbies.....are they not available for boats???
