Luhrs 40 open has 2 saddle tanks. Do you guys leave the shut off Vales open, so you can transfer them at will, or shut, then need to switch them when needed?

I leave mine open. Mains and gen run off main tank and when I get low on that tank I transfer both saddle tanks back to main tank. Just what works for us!

If you're going to be running with a beam sea all day, such as when you're running down a coast, you might drain the side opposite the waves first so she leans into it, but otherwise leave them all open

Generally I leave the valve all open. Always transfer the saddles empty before fueling......that way at least the saddles have 98% fresh fuel in them......

Thank you folks. New to her. Picked her up in NC and running to NJ. At the Chesapeake at the moment!
