    Finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel on rust repairs near transom and forward under pilothouse.

    Did the transom rust from the inside out...?

    Best laid plans

    Rusted from the inside. One of the prior owners applied some type of epoxy coating that closed most of the limber holes blocking drainage to the bilge. With the deterioration of my engine hatches, rain/washdown water was getting into the engine room and I had a build up of rust between the epoxy and the steel hull.

    So, I reached the point where I might just as well have the whole bottom sandblasted.

    Looks like you did a great job . I had about 10 rust holes in my bottom that I welded new patches myself I'll show photo at a latter date Gravy
