I am hoping for suggestions on my Robertson AP45 in my 81ft Burger. First the control head will not fire up. Tried tracking down power etc.. . I have all current Simrad MFD and Radar. Thinking of updating too a current compatible system. Not sure what that should be. Can the current pump be used. The boat hass power steering as well. all of the works great. The Auto pilot worked fine and then just died. I am sure all the other components are serviceable. Any input would be much appreciated.
We have gone thru a few Robertson / Simrad APs. Still using the original Constant Running pump. The new Simrad NAC-3 box will drive any pump and talk to near any device, Just not the ole RobNet. Your old rudder feedback will still work also. Your NSO or NSS displays can run the AP box and not need a separate operator control. So just the new NAC-3, new compass and some cables will get you started. You can add the operator panels later if you miss them. If you like your AP45, fix it. e-bay is our friend.
There used to be a place in Seattle that repaired them also maybe a web search as an alternative would find them.
