    Hello all
I have aquired a '69 Roamer 38 foot steel hull without engines and wonder if anyone has input on diesel re-power. I think the boat was available new with diesels? Maybe 6-53 Detroits? Anyone know what engines might fit without major modifications? I am new to the forums and am glad to find some common interest in old Chris's. Have had a few over the years but my first Roamer. Thanks. Mike

    A Fellow 38 Roamer - but aluminum

    Hi Mike,
Sorry, I can't help on the engine question, but just wanted to say HI as I've a '69 roamer Regal 38 footer as well. It's aluminum though, not stell.
    It's a fine ship!
    Is yours a regal model?

The Detroit 6 53's were an original option so they should fit.

    Good Luck

    Transmissions + Parts

I have a pair of Paragon transmissions for sale, plus all the hardware for mounting 427's in a CC. These transmissions might work for a diesel conversion. If you are interested, let me know.

Price is $200 each. I'll have to look at them this evening to get the numbers, which I'll then post.

I also have all the other parts available not part of the base engines, e.g. manifolds, bellhousings, front and rear mounts, marine pumps/starters/alternators, etc.

Thanks for the numbers. I'm going to check mine to see if they match. Are they both good?
