Riverbend Marina and Boatyard up the New River in Fort Lauderdale have had a shaky reputation in the past. People went there for price and deals rather than quality. It was dirty with un-paved surfaces and a travel-lift that was often broken or had flat tires.

    Not any more:
The place changed owners a little while ago and it has been cleaned up.
Brand new remote controlled travel lift (You listening Carl?) new faces and paved lots.

After I took a customer's boat there a few months ago and noticed
the changes, I took my own boat in for a bottom job and some other minor stuff last week. Turned out the minor glass job on the keel was a bit more extensive than I first thought. I had the yard do the work and they found soaked and delaminated layers of fiberglass. They kept digging deeper and deeper to find good glass. As the days came an went and the hours went up, I got uneasy thinking about the final bill.

To make a long story short, the yard could have soaked me with a pretty big bill and plenty of lay-days and other charges. Instead they were more concerned about doing the job right and presented a final bill that was almost pleasant.

All the time they were friendly and professional.

Based on the above I can highly recommend River Bend Marine Center in Ft. Lauderdale, 1-(954) 523-1832

(No, I don't have stock in the company :D )
