I have the wiring diagram for the 1975 32' uniflight It showes a resistor in the ignition system after the key and before the coil. Does anyone know where this is located on the boat?

On the gas engine, next to the ignition coil.
    White ceramic ballast resistor.
The resistor was use to help the points last longer.

40 years later, you may not have the original ignition system (or motors). Newer coils were developed with internal ballast, then different solid state ignitions systems that did away with resistors & points completely.
