  1. Bloemsma and Van Breemen launch 27-meter "WindCat 101"

Dutch Yacht builder Bloemsma and Van Breemen launched the 27-meter "Wind Cat 101" earlier this year. She isn't a yacht but more of a work boat for offshore wind farm work. Launched on February 18, 2011 she is the first in a series of such vessels.

Naval Architecture was by Morrelli and Melvin Design & Engineering. Interior and exterior design was done by Vripack naval architects. She has been built in all aluminum on a catamaran hull platform. There are four MTU 8v2000M72 engines onboard with a top speed above 30-knots.

She can carry as many as 50 persons for about 300 nautical miles offshore. Two cabins are located below deck in the hulls with two persons each slept. Engineers cabin is on the upper deck and lounge area on the main deck where entertainment, computer access points, WiFi, galley and so on are located. The reinforced foredeck can be fitted with one 20-foot container or two ten-footers or other cargo.
