Has anyone ever installed a read station in their cockpit? I have a 2000 cockpit motor sport yacht. Thanks!!
Hmmm. You may want to tell us what kind of engine controls you have, what kind of engines, how many stations you already have etc
Yes, it can be done, you need to figure out the runs for the hynautic hoses and such, being close to the engine room does help.
You should be able to add another set of Hynautic controls, running the howes will be the hardest part of the job depending on the boat
Also, new manifolds at the connect point. Look where all the controls come together. Usually close to the pressure / receiver (where the air gauge is). You should find some alloy blocks where all the controls meet. Is there a path blocked with plugs for expansion? Send in pictures of the manifolds if not sure. Nerve racking could be running the fluid tubes. It's black plastic tubing, 5/16" od. Two per control. So 8 tubes, 1 1/2" bundle. Punch 2" holes with an anti chafe ring at every pass thru. Up thru the bilge is O K if you must take that route. I do prefer the ole Hynautic controls over cables and drive by wire (electronic controls). However, the drive by wire is getting better, still not lightning proof. But the drive by wire needs to be considered. Has lots of extras as idle speed and electronic clutch slippage management. Oh, zero effort lever operation, Electronic sync and one lever operation. I bring all this mess up; The remote Hynautic controls and all misc hardware that your asking about will equal a notable part of an electronic system budget.
Go fly by wire all the way and use actuators in the engine room. It can be a do it yourself project or it can be a turnkey solution as well. PM me for more details.
