I'm trying to get the radio license straightened out on the boat I'm currently running. It is registered in the BVI. It's been a few years since I ran a foreign flagged vessel but I seem to recall that the ships radio license should come from the same country as the vessel is registered in and not through the US FCC. Is that correct? And if so, does the MMSI number for the ships VHF radios come from there as well, or can I get that from the FCC? Thanks
Hi, Have a llok at this, it should answer most questions. http://www.vishipping.gov.vg/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=OgUNI7ZMiMg=&tabid=134&mid=534 If you can find your vessel on Marine Traffic you should see the MMSI Number there
Thanks. New registration, all new equipment and the boat never had AIS till now. Thus the need for a new license and MMSI number.
