    Construction was started at the Sain Nazaire shipyard in Jan 2002 with floatout in June 2003. Engines are four azipods of probly 20,000hp each.:eek:

    During the first sea trials, one of the bow thruster doors closed prematurely while the thruster was operating. The door was blown off by the force of the thruster and sank.

    i saw that a long while ago, it was very nice.the water was too deep to recover the blown thruster door so they had to return to st Nazzaire to replace it as the thruster tunnel with out the closed door would affect the underwater hydrodynamics of the hull and potentially slow down the vessel!

    i've seen that video a while agon on a german tv station, got to say, pretty impressive, but even more when you see it on your own
