I spoke with a captain on an LSX-75 following last year's Lauderdale Show who stated the engines were going through belts at a faster rate than expected. He speculated that heat was the culprit due to four engines crammed into a space that normally occupies two. Reasonable assumption. Don't know if VP has addressed the same since. Following our debut review of the LSX-75, I did a sea trial on the boat while attending a press conference in Sweden. I think our original review covered the performance aspects of the LSX-75 quite well... http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/lazzara-yacht/5867-review-lazzaras-lsx-quad-75-a.html There were two unexpected exceptions... 1. At the press debut of the LSX-75, Lazzara claimed there was no discernible difference in decibel level with the sunroof retracted. I remained skeptical because the trailing edge of the sunroof was higher than the leading edge. It's a recipe for buffeting at speed. After the sea trial, my reservations were put to rest. Lazzara's claims are true. 2. There is a noticeable lack of engine noise and vibration when idling or running WOT on the LSX. However, because the LSX is an open floor plan between the main deck and lower deck, there is no insulation between these areas to dampen the sound of wave chop slapping the hull. It is the only thing you will hear and it's an unusual sound because most 75' yachts don't run across the water as fast as a bass boat. If you are buying a new Lazzara, please PM me.
