Looking to buy a 50ft Post with DD 8v92's 735hp. I found this article that shows fuel burn numbers. Can anyone confirm if these numbers are accurate? We won't be able to put fuel flow meters on it until the winter off season. Mostly concerned with range as we have long runs here in the northern Gulf. https://dicksimonyachts.com/blog/bo...rtible-sportfisher-review-1991-bill-collector
Why do you need fuel flow meters? The DDEC's have fuel readings right on them. Does this version in this boat not have this?
The GPH should be right at each RPM point.....the speed in the test is about 10% optimistic. I wouldn't bother with floscans......as long as you have a fuel burn chart.......easy to calculate.
As Captain J said, The GPH should be right at each RPM point, just make sure that you are propped right and making the max rpm of 2300, otherwise your engines would be overloaded and your fuel burn will be a little higher at the different RPMs
