Anyone know how dependable these boats are and getting maintenance done how long it takes? Have Italian motorcycle for 2 years in the shop 9 months, hear Ferrari owners have same issues. Thanks Tim
Where in world will be purchased and eventually berthed ? Ferretti Group are excellent at after care and the MAN or MTU motors have WW dealer back up . As does Arnesons the drives . Yachts are a collection of off the shelf components. The component manufacturers have good after sales services inc online . The 3 Ferraris I have had in Europe have been the most reliable cars I have ever had ,but I do read the manuals and give them mechanical sympathy. Same sympathy I give my boat and it’s engines btw . Just a word of caution surface drive props and large boats put enormous strain on the motors in inexperienced hands = big bills = erosion of builder reputation. I guess same with a Ferrari if you don’t wait for correct temps + pressure and abuse the launch control/ clutch etc . What have YOU broken on your bike if you don’t mind me asking .
MV Agusta 800 RR 2019 bought new: back brake stops working all the time, the gas tank leaks now thru the cap builds up pressure - shop says i need new tank, the rear wheel when on a stand rubs as it turns and screeches you can feel it binding, the bike leaks fuel on the floor stinks up the place bad, when taking off letting the clutch out the bike jumps and chatters when cold, sometimes when warm.
Sounds like you have a bit of a lemon there . I wouldn’t let it effect your decision making on everything else Italian . FG boats are up there with build and aftercare . I ,am not familiar with your cruise locations but would have thought plenty of engine + drive maintenance guys in S FL , if not a FG dealer . Beckhams Riva is there …..same FG outfit ?
MAN service is a little scarce on the Lake MI, however Northern Marine Diesel in Two Rivers (45 mins away from GB) is factory certified and good at what they do.
