Finally found some free time this weekend to take up an offer from our fearless leader and jumped on the YF photo-boat for some R&R and photos. The weather cooperated, the libations properly chilled and of course, the hospitality of our captain and crew was outstanding. Let's see what we saw: Nice CC A Boston Whaler all grown up Tide miscalculation? Nice Ocean sportfish Hope there's AC in that enclosure
The Rybovich Other Love, I think the former Loot Lam Not sure if this is a BD, but great flare, deep forefoot and flat deadrise aft Arc Strike coming... ... And going
Big Bert This baby is sitting low not just due to the iron hanging off the transom... ...But also from all the fuel it needs to quench the thirst of these powerplants A busy day around Peanut Island, just inside Lake Worth inlet Plenty of LEO's on hand to keep the peace and order
Trinity's Big City threading her way through the holiday traffic Uh-oh, someone got caught Neptunus I think. What say you? At the Rybo yard, we were star struck first with Emerald Star... ...Then with Polar Star
Tom took more than pics on Memorial Day, he took out his wallet and purchased propane for the grille, then put on his chef's hat and gave me chicken-on-the-barbie lessons. Tom takes great pics, but he's also a good cook! The Palm Beach City docks and Rybovich had vacancy signs out this weekend as most of the big boats were headed for colder waters. There were a few boats at Old Port Cove, but we were ready to grille, so we headed home. Good Memorial Day mix... friends, food, libations and cigars at sunset.
Captain Tom Strikes Again! Thanks for an interesting ride and a layman's viewpoint to the boats and the experience!
Thanks for the hospitality Carl. I don't mind grilling, but just can't think about eating a turkey burger. Here's some more from our cruise: M/Y Helios (hope I don't insult the owner but it looked small next to Polar Star) Emerald Star from the other end Bella Brie Golden Rule, a Feadship I believe Continental Drifter from our favorite tropical crooner
Westport makes some stylish yachts, as evident on M/Y Believe PJ's Milk And Honey Another Westport, Silver Moon Delta Marine's blue-hulled Marlinda Primacy, an Outer Reef
Unmistakingly a Hargrave Almost looks like a motorsailer Looks like there's a new AR-DE on the block... ...with both sporting classic lines The name on this Marlow is "Bye-Luv Ya-See Ya" Will post a few more later. In New Orleans this week and heading to dinner for some gumbo and charbroiled oysters smothered in garlic, butter and parmesian cheese. For dessert, a few extra hits of the cholesterol medicine.
Here's a slightly different view of boating in the Palm Beach area: One of those boats that uses wires and ropes instead of reciprocating iron bits. Rybo from the rearview. "It was there a moment ago ..." "No, it's not in the parts book but it works!"
