  1. First Day Of 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival
Today is the opening day of the 2024 edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival and as expected there have been announcements made by various yards attending the show. Specifically, new models have been announced on the first day and YF will inform on some of the new releases. Princess Yachts has expanded their X-line of yachts with the announcement of the X90 along with the first unit of the S80 model at the show. Two new debut models announced at the show for SanLorenzo, the SL86A and the SP92. The Ferretti 940 flybridge also has been announced.
  2. The Princess Yachts X-Line now has another member in the X90. The 27-meter X90 is a notable addition to the X-lineup coming in just under the flagship X95 but above the X80 giving customers a bit more choice and flexibility. Standard accommodation onboard for guests will be in a three cabin layout however, customers have the choice to squeeze in another two smaller ensuite cabins that would increase the guest cabin count to 5. The first Princess X90 is expected to make its debut in 2026.
  3. The first specimen from the S80 model serves as the flagship of the S-Class range and that unit is at the show on display. Although it is a production model there are some options the yard is giving to customers. The new S80 can be outfitted with a pair of MAN V12 1,900 horse power engines or slightly more powerful 2,000 horse power engines. The latter should permit a 34-knots. There is also an optional 7,000 LT fuel tank for an extended cruising range scenario. The layout onboard can be friendly to two owner circumstances. 1. As an owner-operator vessel or as a crewed vessel with accommodation for up to 3 crew.
  4. SanLorenzo announced the SL86A which is another sub-variant in their Asymmetric line. The Asymmetric idea has spawned a couple of models so far namely the SL102 and SL96 models. For those who are not familiar with this yard's Asymmetric design it simply deletes the port-side corridor/walkway while retaining the other on the starboard side. This permits for a full-height window overlooking the sea on one side, and a living room opening onto a balcony on the other.
  5. The SP92 also being announced is a new addition to the yards 'Smart Performance' line which already includes the SP110. So the new yacht is a step-down in size offering customers choice in a slightly smaller platform. The 27.9-meter vessel is a performance vessel with the ability to reach a 40-knot top end. The beam onboard is 7.1-meters being able to sleep up to 8 guests and 4 crew members.
  6. Another new announcement is the Ferretti 940 flybridge. This yacht sits just under the flagship Ferretti 1000 The yard suggests that already three hulls have been sold. Exterior of this yacht has been designed by Filippo Salvetti while the interiors have been penned by IdeaeITALIA. Many details have not been disclosed but she should feature a 5 cabin layout with 4 cabins on the lower deck and the master on the main deck. The first hull of the new model was signed for at a relatively recent Private Preview showing hosted by the Ferretti Group.
