oceAnco LAUNCHES “LADY CHRISTINA” on 30 April 2005...

This was quite a week for oceAnco. First, the delivery of the stunning M/Y “DILBAR” (66m / 216.55ft) and now the launching of the 62m (203.42ft) awesome superyacht “LADY CHRISTINA”. “LADY CHRISTINA” emerged on time and with typical oceAnco precision from the 66,000 sq ft Alblasserdam facility to take center stage on the ships elevator ready for her christening.

The owner and his family, together with crew members, subcontractors and oceAnco staff gathered on Saturday 30th April to witness the launching celebration which was accompanied by the release of 1500 red, white, blue and orange balloons. At precisely 11:00am, the champagne shattered perfectly against the bow, a fitting signal for everyone to raise their glasses and cheer the start of what will without doubt be a distinguished cruising career. A special word was also given in honour of the Dutch Queen’s birthday which was also being energetically celebrated throughout Holland.

The proud owner gave a glowing speech dedicated to the whole of his team, the oceAnco team and workforce for fulfilling his dream of creating such a magnificent yacht.

In true oceAnco style, a themed party commenced with a jazzy melody played by a small band threading their way through the guests. Soft drinks and vintage wines were served together with delicious “pain-surprise” amongst other delicacies. The children (and some adults) were entertained by a balloon magician as well as a seriously contested competition for the best t-shirt painting of “LADY CHRISTINA”. This festive ambiance gave everyone the opportunity to meet and enjoy whilst admiring this beautiful yacht from the purpose built marquee and wooden terrace.

“LADY CHRISTINA” is due to be delivered in July 2005 and will travel to the Mediterranean for her maiden voyage. Contrasting with the canoe stern and sweeping curves of “DILBAR” also on the dock, “LADY CHRISTINA” has more a traditional external styling.

The naval architecture and exterior styling are from oceAnco and her elegant interior decoration is from François Zuretti Design.

Her luxurious cabins can accommodate 8 guests in 2 double and 2 twin cabins and her owners in a panoramic master suite located on the owner’s deck which includes a private salon, dining area and a remarkable two-level bathroom.

oceAnco is proud to add this unique and distinctive yacht to its fleet.

No bulbous bow, but does that look bow down, bow heavy plowing?
Yes, a 17 year old picture but still looks funny.
