Looking at a 2012 65 Ocean Alexander any info about vessels fit and finish or sea worthiness is appreciated...
OAs are pretty good boats. Don't think I have ever heard a read bad comment. Hang on and be patient. Some experts are here on YF and should be checking in with you from around the world, in a few days at worst. Sadly, Marine Max has been pushing a lot of their used and new models. You may find some poor comments regarding them (MM) but please don't think it has anything bad to say about OAs.
While I have never (not yet) attended a survey on an OA 65, I believe OAs to be good, sturdy, well built boats. On the long list of Taiwanese built boats, I put OA high on the list.
My slip neighbor has a 2008 64' OA. The gel coat finish and extensive cracking caused a full paint job at 8 years old. The rudders and steering needed to be dropped and redesigned. The running and overall boat experience has been above average. Like most Taiwan boats newer means better. Hopefully they improved greatly by 2012.
I am not yet very good at boats, especially motor boats, but I had a story from my life. I went with my wife to rest, decided to have a good rest, then we spent a lot on finances, did not spare anything) any attraction, entertainment, restaurants. We were very afraid to take a boat ride, especially because of the seismic activity in the region, we chose a motor yacht on the advice of friends ; a Formular 34 PC. They flew on it like hawks in the mountains, they were initially scared) and the waves were big, even I was scared, although I am over 40 years old)
