MastMock.jpeg fullsizeoutput_87e.jpeg Having a new radar/antenna mast made to replace some previous owner stainless and fiberglass arch stuff. I thought I would post a photo of the first cardboard mock and get feedback on the project.
SeaView is the mast manufacturer, well I think the make them, who knows maybe they just design them and import them.
Anyway, this first mock up is going to have a few modifications already, higher lights being one.

It looks fine, but does add to your air draft a bit over the previous one

Roger that, I had that in mind, it will stay on my mind thanks to you for the reminder. Luckily I have few air draft issues in my neck of the woods.

Those antenna masts can easily be made foldable by just adding a hinge at its deck plate. They even come with hydraulic mechanism, if wanted. For going European inland waterways almost every boat has foldable antenne poles or masts in order to stay below the magic 4 meter air draft limit.

Looks great and must serve its purpose perfectly.

This is my one on my inland waterway boat (CE Cat B :)). The standing rigging is only attached, when going offshore in bad weather. Without the standing rigging, the mast comes down hydraulically upon push of a button. Btw. the device on top of the mast is a stabilized FLIR / low light camera. The greatest addition I ever did to that boat.

Look, the FLIR is just scanning the person taking the picture :).
