This single-engine aft pilothouse N68 is the 30th hull number to be completed by ocean-going trawler/expedition yacht specialist Nordhavn. She is reportedly called "Vesper" and was commissioned in Dana Point, California. The owners took delivery of the boat and had a christening party last week in Dana Point hosting PAE staff and various vendors aboard the stunning Vesper. Now that commissioning is complete they will get their feet wet with little trips around the area. In November they will head down the coast with their salesman, cruise Mexico, with the goal of bringing the boat through the Panama Canal and cruising the Bahamas and up the Eastern Seaboard, eventually making it to their home in Cape Cod by Summer 2016.

Throughout the boat, the owners opted for a modern style by incorporating a cherry wood interior with horizontal grain, white Caesar stone countertops and a special wave-patterned tile backsplash in the galley. Enormous attention was also given to the lighting plan in the boat which was outfitted completely with Imtra LED lights. Through PAE’s strong relationship with Imtra Corporation, a customized LED lighting plan was generated that provided the desired mix of form and function. Cool white LED downlights were used on the exterior to accentuate the shine of the white gelcoat and smaller-diameter LED downlights were used on the interior in warm white to accentuate the cherry wood and gray and cream color scheme of the fabric selections. Lower output level courtesy lighting with red LEDs were strategically placed on the interior to move around at night without the need for overhead lighting and to preserve night-vision when under passage. The salon does away with the traditional settee on the side by incorporating individual furniture pieces. Now that Vesper has been delivered to her owners, they are now getting accustomed to their new boat.
