2009 summer was quite a busy summer for us. We started the summer quite early in April and was able to enjoy quite long passages. We visited the Greek Islands in the Agean and Ionian sea and Croatia, then we moved to Cannes for the boat show and back to Gocek. There are several pictures I have made and I hope you will enjoy the journey along side me here on the forum. We started on a sunny day from Gocek; as usual there were several large yachts on the Skoopea Marina, where mostof the visiting yachts take a berth. The 1st picture was a try to add sails and masts to "Nilo".
leaving Gocek More boats at Skoopea Marina; the one on the second picture is "Gloria", is she ex-Flying Eagle? Our next stop was Rhodos and there were three big ones next to each other.
There is a new marina in Gocek this season - TURK MARINE. they have a 300 ton stradle carrier. The other picture are of Heesen's "Elandess", Westport's "JW", "Cigdem" and RMK's "Caressa K".
Our next stop was Astipalia; we climbed to the top and had a nice evening drink, the next day on the way to Santorini we came accross a Ferretti 94.
Santorini as is always a place that attracts special attention. See all the people waiting for the famous sun set..
Then we moved to Kimolos next to Milos to enjoy the crystal clear waters.. At Milos Adamas port the Alexandar V of Isa was sailing out. We berthed next to sail yacht "Vaimiti"
We left Adamas for Korent the next day. On the way we came accross "Rio Rita". Lars has posted my picture during the FLIBS, I am not the unknown person any longer; so here we are together with my captain Willem Kalma at the enterance of Korent.
Oops, you have mistaken me for much finer gentleman. Tom Serio took the pic and I posted it. We wish Lars was here for FLIBS! Carl
Nilo, Thanks for a great photographic record of your summer so far. That's my old stamping ground and it brings back many fond memories. Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing the rest!
Love the journey Nilo. Thanks for that. I think the Gloria in post #2 is the 2004 Izar GLORIA TERESA Kind regards Ken
Ken, thanks very much, but I think it is the Bloemsma Van Breemen's "Flying Eagle" as you could see in the enclosed link; http://www.reymondlangtondesign.com/index.php?id=112
