News: Westport Launches 38M "Black Gold"

38-meter "Black Gold" Launches At Westport Yachts

The Westport line of yachts continues with the launching of a member of the newest addition to their model line-up. The 38-meter "Black Gold" recently made her way to the water as a member of the new Westport 125 line. In essence it may look similar to what Westport is accustomed to producing -which is good- but a closer look suggests that this 38-meter is a much more sporty and edgy design. Basically taking a design that worked for them and bringing forward the styling to current times.

The raised pilothouse design as well as the mast design does alot to breathe life into the overall Westport design. Black Gold is expected to make an appearance at the 2016 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) in November. “Launching a new yacht is always an exciting achievement for the entire Westport family,” explains Alex Rogers, Director of sales “This particular launch makes us feel very proud because it is the new flagship in the series, and our most advanced yacht built to date.” Black Gold, is now the flagship of this new model, the fourth overall model that Westport offers. With 2600 HP MTUs onboard she should reach a 25-knot top speed when tested on trials.
