  1. 26-meter "Helga" Launches At Van der Valk
The latest launch from Dutch builder Van der Valk is a 26-meter vessel the owners christened "Helga". In case you are wondering, Helga means blessed in Old Norse. The exterior is penned by Guido de Groot with Naval Architecture drawn in-house at the yard. Take a look at that blue hull, beautiful. The yard calls it Pastel Blue. The interior is designed to a finish by Guido de Groot as well. Helga is now the fifth 26-meter vessel to be launched from the yard.
  2. The pristine white of the superstructure contrasts effortlessly with the pureness of the Pastel Blue hull. When the owners take delivery they will have her to admire over the coming Summer period. Some special features that stand out include; an oversized swim platform -larger than usual on a yacht this size-. This is necessary to accommodate the tender or pwc the owners are likely to store on the platform. A spacious flybridge is also on offer with the aft section open for tender storage (with its own davit) or lounging space when the tender is launched into the water. The forward section is home to the flybridge navigation on the forward port side with starboard side permitting direct access below to the wheelhouse. Midships will have al-fresco dining and other activities under a deployable soft awning/bimini.
  3. Van der Valk also gave insight into how the interiors are going to look when it is completed. Elaborate workmanship is buttressed by the use of whitewashed Oak and Walnut. Accommodation onboard has been laid out in one master and three guest suites on the lower deck while the crew have two crew cabins. The interior has a very soft pastel nature in muted sandy tones which play well with the more bold exterior paint work but follows the pastel theme.
  4. Created as a family superyacht for the owners and their adult children, layout highlights include a large and super-cosy main lounge for everyone to gather. The dining area has been placed in the wheelhouse to free up space in the salon, connected by a staircase that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functionally smart. The yacht has been fitted with a pair of 12-cylinder MTU engines that are expected to allow her a comfortable top speed of 27-knots (to be confirmed on sea trials). Helga will be cruising the Mediterranean region once delivered.
