  1. Van der Valk Attends FLIBS 2023
Another Dutch yard is making their presence known at the 2024 64th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Van der Valk is there to share with you their successes at the world's largest in-water event and are debuting this quad 600 Mercury outboard concept dubbed the Edge 65. Although the Van der Valk name might be new to many people, they started building boats in the 1960s and to date, have delivered over 1000 motoryachts. In recent years they have splashed some noteworthy designs and we have covered them previously on YachtForums. The Edge 65 is a good example of a Dutch yard thinking outside the box and building an aluminum based boat with outboard power.
  2. The award won by the EDGE 65 in Cannes was great news and the shipyard is now at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show to share their vision. She was built for the same family that built another award-winning Van der Valk called "Lady Lene" and the yard has also been making headlines with other recent launches such as "Blue Jeans" and "Felis". All these projects benefit from Van der Valk's unique approach to custom builds in the 25 to 45-meter range and they are ready to welcome the chance to discuss your personal ideas during FLIBS. Not that much has been widely publicized about Felis in the manner that Lady Lene and Blue Jeans have been afforded.
  3. The beautifully bespoke 23.56-meter Felis benefits from the rich expertise of clients who truly know how to enjoy life on the water. Her sturdy yet charming exterior profile, drawn by Guido de Groot, was inspired by the no-nonsense lines of their explorer range and success stories such as "Dutch Falcon", "Seawolf" and "Venera". The rest of Felis is custom designed inside and out, revolving around the specific length required. She has impressive interior volume for a relatively compact size, with comfort assured by a round-bilged steel hull and a low center of gravity that comes with an aluminium superstructure.
