Another unveiling of a new item for the superyacht industry at the ongoing Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is the Valo Hyperfoil. Judging by the renderings below you will easily recognize that this is a PWC with foiling technology. Valo, designed to create zero wake and zero emissions, lets you fully soak up your surroundings with zero distraction.

Although it was only just revealed at FLIBS, Valo says a limited first-run of founders edition vehicles will be ready by the end of 2023. For those wondering about the build, the Valo Hyperfoil is built in Alameda, California with parts being made in cutting edge facilities in the the United States and New Zealand. The key difference between Valo and a jetski is that Valo is a hydrofoil vehicle. That means it has wings under the water that lift the hull out of the water, allowing it to be very fast while also using very little energy. It also unlocks unsurpassed agility and control that is not possible on a jetski.

As a foiling craft it has long foil struts that extend into the water and people will naturally wonder how do you store or even transport such a craft with the extra space it potentially could envelop in that configuration. Valo has fully retractable hydrofoils and can be loaded onto a standard trailer designed for personal water craft.

High modulus carbon fiber composites, titanium, and ultra high strength stainless steels are used in the construction of the Valo Hyperfoil. The seat the passenger sits on is made from 'vegan leather'. The craft is 100% electric and has an estimated run time of 2.3 hours giving a top speed of 42mph. For those interested the company says that the targeted price for the base production model is $59,000.
