  1. Inside NB110 Under Construction
The carbon fiber 32-meter sailing catamaran currently under construction by U4 Marine is quickly coming to its conclusion. It is in build as NB110 and has Naval Architecture by Greg Young Design but the rest of the design is in-house by the yard U4 Marine. In fact, this is one of their first builds that they have done mostly-in-house. This time last year the project was sold to its current owner. Earlier this year the the hulls and superstructure were completed and turned.
  2. The yacht will incorporate photovoltaics on some of the upper surfaces of the superstructure -primarily the forward upper superstructure as well as the flybridge hardtop. The exterior deck spaces are straight-forward and practical with ample seating forward at the sides and aft.
  3. The yacht has been built using a three-shot infusion process to ensure a lightweight but strong and robust structure that is suitable for racing but also efficiency and range. The interior of the yacht has now been revealed and we get to glimpse what onboard will be like including the massive master suite. It appears the interior is pinned on light coloured walls as well as using browns throughout. Fluted/slatted ceiling detailing with linear LED bars make an aesthetic statement but also practically light the space.
  4. Even though the yacht has been briefed as a racing-cruising vessel, the interior is still one of luxury and comfort but lightweight and practical for when she has to flex her muscles on the open-water. In the hulls there are Yanmar 8LV engines working alongside a Parallel Hybrid system setup by E-motion. So not only is this going to be a fast vessel but a fairly sustainable one. This includes 200 kW e-motors and a 250 kWh battery bank capable of delivering silent overnight operation. Remember those photovoltaics, there is to be approximately 70-square-meters of solar on the upper surfaces. The project was sold to a South African client and will be delivered in the Summer of 2026.
