  1. Partially Finished Sailing Vessel Gets New Life At Turquoise Yachts
There is a sailing yacht under construction at Turquoise Yachts...yes Turkish premier builder Turquoise Yachts. That might sound odd that a company that is accustomed to building motor yachts is attempting to build a sailing yacht. Pause your thoughts for a second. The 51-meter aluminium sailing yacht actually did not originate at Turquoise but rather was started at a Dutch yard and Turquoise bought it. She was originally aimed to be a schooner but now will have a sloop rig with Dykstra Naval Architects in charge of that re-optimization.
  2. With the yacht approximately being 230 GT, "Rainbow II"'s interior will be finished to a design by Devos DeVries. The interior is a traditional theme with some contemporary elements thrown in. The main timber to be used will be Mohogany while details will feature Burl and Ebony. To offset the dark interior lighter cream textiles have been used on carpets, ceiling and furniture upholstery. Rainbow II will be able to sleep up to twelve guests if necessary but ordinarily there is in-cabin lodging for ten guests in five cabins with a Master, VIP, two twins and a double all with ensuite bathrooms. The other two guest placements are located in the lower salon with provisions for a sofa bed. For the crew there are four cabins allowing up to nine to be slept onboard. Rainbow II is sloop rigged now and will be powered by a single Volvo D16. On engine power at full RPM the vessel should be able to make a 15-knot top speed. Completion of this yacht is expected to be in 2021.
