  1. "Solo" Nears Completion At Tankoa Yachts

It's not the Italian yard's Solo launch but that is the name of Tankoa's latest build. You may recognize her as a member of the S701 'line'. She is nearing the end of her construction and is expected to deliver in about two months, just in time for her international debut at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). The design is by a usual suspect in this part of the yacht world, Francesco Paszkowksi. Her sophisticated interior is the work of Margherita Casprini.
  2. Her five deck layout has been overseen by Casprini to ensure the owner's wishes are fulfilled as the brief called for a warm and elegant interior with modern touches. Special features onboard include a pool on the aft main deck, a jacuzzi on the upper aft owner deck and private jacuzzi on the foredeck of the same deck for the owner. A helipad is situated on the aft upper deck for touch-and-go operations and suited for most twin-engine helicopters but ideal for the AW109.
  3. Other features include a Gym, Hammam, Sauna facility, Beach Club, side loading garages for two 7.5-meter tenders and PWCs. The use of the yacht's 38-foot beam is good especially as it relates to tender garage storage. The gym is glassed in and features a fold-town terrace to help open-up the space and provide a unique exercise experience.
  4. Guest accommodation onboard will be split between decks with two doubles, two twins and a VIP. One or two other facilities onboard can actually be transformed into smaller rooms if needed. The master is on the forward upper deck and in fact that whole deck is dedicated to the owner, where the master apartment, office and other amenities reside. This yacht has been built by the owner with chartering in mind and also for resale. If the yacht is sold quickly, the owner will have little time to enjoy their creation. This is the owner's second build with this Italian yard.
  5. An interesting feature is that most of the exterior decks feature no railings in the traditional sense. The helipad is the only area where stainless steel rails are prominently seen. Most of the decks are seen with clear glass installed to help improve the views outward and also give a sleeker appearance to the vessels exterior. Guests will be able to enjoy a number of exterior deck areas that will be transformed into comfortable oases. Crew accommodation is on the lower deck and their spaces are separated to allow them to work and traverse the yacht without impeding on guest and owner enjoyment.
  6. Solo is a near sister to "Suerte" but is a bit larger with 1,600 GT volume and 72-meter LOA with an 11.60-meter beam. She should also be a bit faster at around 17.5-knots as well but we will await seatrial information to confirm this. A pair of Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines are onboard and at 12.5-knots the range is expected to be 5,000 nautical miles.
