  1. P70 Motoryacht Delivered by Spirit Yachts
Spirit Yachts recently delivered their motoryacht flagship, the 21.7-meter/71.6-foot P70. The yacht was built in wood largely and skimmed with a thin layer of epoxy resin. Constructed using Sapele ring frames to which Douglas fir longitudinal strips were bonded, the P70 build followed the same core processes of Spirit’s sailing yacht hulls. Once the initial structure was complete, diagonal layers of kaya wood planking were laid down, sanded and vacuum infused with a thin layer of epoxy resin. The method saves some weight compared to a similar sized vessel built of traditional GRP. Below is a launch photo by Waterlinemedia.
  2. The yacht is going to be based in the UK and the owner plans the utilize the vessel in the Summer for trips to Scandinavia. With a range of 1,000 nautical miles at cruising speeds -18-knots-, this vessel can provide the owner with enough reach to complete their personal missions. With twin MAN i6 800 horse power engines onboard, keeping the pressure on at full-throttle yields 25-knots. Remember the yacht weighs just about 24 tonnes lightship.
  3. The lower deck houses the accommodation and living area. Stairs from the main salon lead down to a forward ensuite owner’s cabin, complete with a bath, and an ensuite single cabin, which doubles up as an office. The master cabin is distinct and separate from the guest accommodation and the dining saloon is open plan next to the galley. No crew members are aboard.
