News: Spirit P70 Nearing Completion

P70 MotorYacht Nears Completion At Spirit Yachts

Expected to be launched in the Spring this yacht is being built for an experienced owner who wants to take 'long' journeys without having to refuel too much. The yacht will be owner-operated and will allow them to run the vessel at a relatively high speed with the ability to cross the North Sea without stopping. The figure is something like 1,000 nautical miles at 18-knots. Top speed will be 25-knots with her twin MAN 800 horse power diesels.

Below you can see when the hull was being turned last mid last year. Since then the build has progressed steadily and now the vessel is in its final stages of construction. Spirit Yachts is known for their 'woody' designs especially on the sail yacht projects and this one has been designed by the company's lead designer Sean McMillan.

Onboard accommodation the owner will have a separate suite with bathroom on the forward end of the vessel away from everything else. The layout onboard was stipulated by the owner. There is a main saloon towards the aft end of the main deck and below you can see a rendition of how it should turn-out in reality once the vessel is completed. Spirit Yachts says they are seeing more demand for motoryachts.
